Abandoned..... (Full Game V.90)

On a Barren Planet known as Rine II in the Artemis Tau Sector a new research base and possible future colony have been set up. You joined the enlistment for the USP (United Space Program) and have been given a job on this new base. The first few days go fine everything runs smoothly on this backwater planet. However though on Earth Date, November 12, 2189 you wake up to find the entire station devoid of life. You wander around aimlessly until you find out that the base was set to base line functions and will not be able to support you in a matter of hours. Thinking quickly you manage to bring the base online only to find it is damaged from a slight storm on the planet. You have to keep the station going or you will die on this planet.

Abandoned Features:
-Manage a Colony on Rine II
-FULL Customs (Sorry just thought I would emphasize that)
-Manage the base's Power, Food, and Structural Stability (Very long word)
-(Something new in my game I am going to try) A score system
-Voice acted bioshock style Audio logs
-Crafting system

News:
12/29/09-A small tie in game I am working on is almost finished. It details on some Aliens being exploited by a minning corporation mentioned in Abandoned.
This game is merely a way to add more story to this game.

Story still a bit cliched, sorry. Needs more background info. But I like the fact that you're completely alone; gives that slightly eerie sensation. Perhaps you can enhance the creepiness with appropriate lighting and graphics.
HUD is too basic for something like this, change the font a bit; add some holders and all. Try to achieve a sci-fi look.

Graphics... well, it's hard to say. Good that you're using 100% customs, but it just doesn't look futuristic nor creepy enough, as your game aims to portray. More like a sterile environment, well; it looks like a hospital to me. Try tinkering around with the sprites and graphics a little, and try to achieve a more sinister feel.

Good attempt, and now on to some game-based questions: What do structural integrity and power do?

I understand about the story it's kinda an afterthought mainly this game was just for me to play. I have a question though more back story about the station or the planet? As for creepiness you have yet to see the other 4 maps. Hud wise yes it is basic and that will be changed, the hud was added last most of the hud was in the main menu before that.


As for your game based questions
Structural integrity is the measure of how close the base is to imploding or having a severe leak. Power is more gameplay wise when the power is low you can't do some things like access areas or even call for help, it also turns most of the lights off and you will have to use your flashlight.

This looks like it needs puzzels. Like Dr. Brain!!! Maybe you walk up to a generator and you have to fix it by sorting out the pieces or pushing certain buttons in a certain order.

The Maps are supposed to be small it's a research Station.
As for puzzles I see what I can do.

If they have to be small try playing around with parralex forgrounds and backgrounds so we're not looking at empty black space.

He posted those screenshots before .6 was released. I don't expect him to go back and edit all of his maps because a new feature was added, I think it looks fine now.

Just added something new, the ability to dump heat off a generator through a minigame, becuase I am new to minigames it's fairly simple, press the enter key while the dump heat icon is highlighted and walla you can dump heat and turn the generator back on.
