We just got Greenlit on Steam

Postby djeby » Sun Mar 13, 2016 1:12 pm

Hey guys, just letting you know that we just got Greenlit on Steam :)

The game is still in development and it will be a while until we launch it, but it turns out the community actually liked the idea, and the different systems we thought of, making it unique in its own way.

The name of the game is Legend of Miro. You can look it up if you like. We got greenlit with Rank #18 from 2106 titles on Greenlight.

It's not easy to get noticed in the heap of mostly junk games: Greenlight, but you did it... Within a week of the game getting uploaded on Greenlight!?!! Congratulations!

Congratulations, that's quite an accomplishment. Well done. :)

It would be nice if you mentioned somewhere that you created Legend of Miro in GG Maker though. I noticed in the comments most people assumed it was made in RPG Maker. It would be a nice little shout out to this program and community. :)

Will do. Of course. It will be said on the Greenlight page soon.
You know there is a war between players and developers that use RPG Maker, and we did not want that to influence the view of the game.

It will be said there of course. As well as all the other credits to people that helped us.

Just letting you guys know, that you can make it through Greenlight if you present the game well enough. We managed to do it on our own, no publisher.

That's a real shame; I would hope not many developers would think this way.

The only way this software can grow, develop and garner new features, is with the support of its users.

Mike i think you misunderstood me.
Or i misunderstood your reply lol.

I was saying that players (for some reason), are sick of RPG Maker games. One of the reason is that "wannabe developers" start RPG Maker and use the default sprites and create a 1 hour story and post it on Greenlight. And people noticed this and are tired of it.

Of course I am supporting GGMaker, afterall, it is the engine i used for my first game, right? :)

It will be showed on the page of the game.

Also, what I meant is that if people see RPG Maker stated anywhere in Greenlight, they automatically vote NO, without even checking if the game is good or bad.

I hope this clears things. :)

Yeah, I've noticed the hostility towards RPG Maker games. I can see why that would be a problem for GG Maker, as they share similar naming conventions.

The game looks beautiful by the way. It's very exciting to see a game made with GG Maker on Steam Greenlight and to actually get voted through. Will certainly be keeping my eye on this game! :)

I completely understand. My bad  Would you be interested in us doing shout outs on our social channels about the game?

And just had a chance to check the game out - videos look great! Favorited it ;).

I wish you the best of luck in completing this. Will definitely play it once it is! :)

Your game inspired me to implement this: http://www.engine001.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28886 If you have any questions about it, just post it there. I figure you could benefit quite a bit from this if you haven't already implemented a workaround.

Thanks Mike. That is really great. We plan on releasing it only when it is fully complete, but still, changes will be made (bug fixes etc) and this is a very handy update.

Yes, that would be awesome if you could do shoutouts.

We just launched our campaign on IndieGogo for crowdfunding.
You can search for "Legend of Miro" on IndieGogo, since I cannot post external links here.

If you guys could help spread the word, that would be awesome.
Thanks a lot guys!
