The Adventures of Enigma ~New updates

Story
In the peacefull town of Mordon, you live as the best horseman they got. You train weapons 3 days a week, and you are popular with the kids. But one day, Lyra's dog, Miraz run away into the deep forest. You run after her, and finds her captured by skeletons. When you have saved her, your sword trainer Ohsus comes to help, but there is no use for that. Lyra thanks you, by giving you a flute, infused with magic, that makes you able to talk with the people in Mordon. Later that day she is washing your horse with you, you get attacked by an enemy. The enemy is from Vanlions, a group of assasins. Lyra gets caugh, and you are left behind, because he think you are dead. You got to save Lyra before it's to late!

Added classes
These classes include
-Assasin[b][/b] (High attack power, increased agility, stealing from enemies, sneaking to reduce sound)
-Archer (Ranged attacker, increased agility, ranged weapon damage increased, sneaking to reduce sound
-Bladesman (meele combat, increased attack, defence, increased health by 3%)

This was one hard to implement feature, as it will be affecting so much in game. Training Points is collected by completing quests, or completing goals/objectives.
All classes is developed by spending your talent-points in the new menu option. When a point is used, it can not be retrieved, so choose carefully!


22. April 2009
Fixed/created some more cool features
-Make some ground things burn, to damage your enemies. Yuo have either to hit them with your Lantern, or any fire-based spell.
-More Quests(only in Armandor)
-Fixed jobs glitch, it should now work properly.
-Worked on the marriage-kid making thing. It will wrk for next version.

Put stuff on my to-do list after vacation
-Fix the herding in beginning
-Fix more bugs
-Repair broken scripts

That's mostly it for now...

5. April 2009
3 new hairstyles have been added! The game was put on hold for a time, because I've been working on another game.
All in all, the game is really getting improved.

Other stuff added
-More vendors around Armandor
-The battle again Blathazar the Terrifying at the end is now complete.
-Every second 1 health is restored

24. March 2009
Fixed a pond, where you can go and icrease you weapon power etc. Still, this requires 10 Spirit Gems. The cave is hidden somewhere in the world. It's not placed on the map, so you must find it yourself! :)


16. March 2009
The % complete in-game is almost complete, there is a large amount of things that makes this go up! For example, you must do all quests, finish story, complete all extra-stuff etc. Everything affects how many % you have completed.
Camping is almost completed in Enigma. So far, there is 4 camps.

15. March 2009
Remade the Main Menu with the new interface editor.
Fixed a bug, when you buy a house, you can sell the key after opening the door to the house. This will not be possible in next version.
New Menu option: Progress. Keeps track of times saved, percentage complete, highest score in the shooting gallery etc.
Fixed the story a bit, in this description.

I'm getting the game ready for release date, in June! :D

12. March 2009
The story now makes more sense. You have to travel all around the world, search for secrets, defeat bosses etc.
Includes in story:
-Listen to secret ideas of the Orcs
-Search underwater
-Look for maps in the Pyramide
-You must talk to pub owners around the world, as they might know things
-Defeat bosses that tell you more about the Vanelions (the bad guys)
And more!

The scripts are getting better, and some tile-sets have gone upgraded, HUD looks nicer, removed things not needed in HUD etc.
One more thing. The release date is delayed. I found out I could never make the entire game finished by 17 March, as there is a LOT more left to do!

11. March 2009
MAJOR update:
-All enemies will now respawn every 60 second when killed.
-All doors close after 5 seconds.
-The Quest Log has a hotkey as L.
-If you press H, and have a healing potion it will be used.
-Menu got removed some stuff.
-Creating even more items.
-Placed over 15 new spinners over the world(there was 4 in the beginning).
-New craftsman shops in Aldra, Gullset, Gnome Plaza, The Great Tree.
-Over 120 soudns in total. Last version only had 80
-A total of 40 new Items (more is being made)
-Over 10 new maps for Armandor Isle
-New Loading menu. Showing borth maps
-You can craft 5 new items/weapons!


10. February 2009
I checked my Variables, just to see how many I had. Over 100 :shock: . I think that is a lot of Variables.


9. February 2009
Fixed bug: The attack by Mordon Spring now works properly
Changed story, so it fits beter with the game.
Added new keys:
Ice Cave Key
Orc Cage Key
There are now easier to earn money in Mordon. Lot's of new zones with money. Also, there is one new kid.
New summons:
Giant Roach
Skeleton

This might sound bad, but it ain't! You can buy a tent, and if you buy/chop logs, and a a tinderbox, you can make a fire. Also, if you have a cooking pot, you can cook food.

The game will probably come in 2009, or December this year.

*******WIFE INFORMATION********

Q: Can I choose wich wife I want to marry?
A: Yes you can do that, and that's (in my opinion) very cool.

Q: What does the kids do?
A: The kids do absolutely nothing at the moment, exept that they want millions of things you should buy. They will usually follow you in the game, when they get old enough.

In next version, keys play a small, but still big role. House keys, chest keys and door keys. There are five different house keys, and 10 other keys. Keys are scattered all around the world. You can find them anywhere. In a tree, caves and drop by enemies. You might also get them from quests.

Not sure. Have only drawed tons of shirts (for the kids) and stuff, have not started scripting yet. I have in 1 day made almost 20 new clothing items, 5 tilesets, and 1 Enviorment. Demo will probably come in December...

The getting married thing sounds like a nice feature. Will you be able to choose your wife, or does it just happen in the storyline?

You will be able to choose your wife as you meet many of them in a house called "woman house" :lol: Also, when you get a new kid, you will have to get them clothes, if not they can die of cold! The kids are not big, as you, but instead more like small gnomes. Their weapons will only be sticks. You should also buy a house to live in with your wife.

Sounds like a pretty cool premise. Kids! That's unheard of! Awesome! Your maps in the screen shots look pretty good too. Make sure you get some good music. Good music always makes for a good game (midi is prefered for file-size).

EDIT: I have a bunch of tilesets made that could be used for this, but uploading tilesets is funky right now. I'll send them to Mike and see if he can upload them.

I will not have time to work on this game for at least a month, aince I'm going to have exams, PRYO week(finding a job, and work there for a week) This means, soory, this game will come even later than I thought! I'm very sorry for this.

Edit: Ok, so this did not last a month... I have made more tilesets than ever, and yeah. It's getting very good! The mount is almost complete. (It is, but it looks like some sort of idiot trying to be a dog :lol: :lol: ) I'm really looking forward of releasing this game! Please, comment more!

Basic, but not so bad.
You might want to place the xp thing either below the health or at the bottom right.

Not bad! I like the idea of marrying, cuz I'm a harvest moon fan. Though, I think adding a few mysterious or more concepts to the plot cuz it sounds too straight of the point, and it probably is, but I don't know. Great idea though for camping, that makes your game memorial and unique to remember. It stands out. Great job!

Thanks for the support. I'm trying to fix the camping for the next version. It's kinda buggy now. The marrying thing is not totaly complete yet, but soon.

I just added one thing that will make it easier to get some money: Jobs. You can do jobs at Armandor Isle, at the Gullset town hall. :D Gullset is the first town you visit once you get to Armandor. You need to be level 2 to visit Armandor!

Currently, these jobs are available:
Delivery (One time)
Ship driving

Yeah, I will mabey to that. But right now, I'm working on something HUGE thing for m game, that wil totaly bring up some votes: The Observatory! You will be able to look at the 2 planets around Enigma, Mo and Lu. :D This is a thing I have never ever ever ever seen in a game.

Statistics and money still too obstructive - partly because of the size, partly because of the central vertical positioning.

If I said all, he'll commit suicide, so here's the basics...
More custom tilesets, especially ground-based and interior medieval.
A slightly more medieval look in both items and environment, and
A pretty developed plotline that doesn't sound too cheesy (think he's okay with this).

EDIT: Added new feature: Build items! For example, you got a Scope (new item) and a Bow, you can create a Precise Bow! This makes it easier to save a lot of money!

I like the idea. You should only be able to do it however if you have a high enough skill.

No, there's no skill for it. I made new stuff, like it you have Logs and Knife, you can create Arrow Shafts, and attach Arrow Tips to create Arrows! :) You can also make unstringed bows, and attach a Bowstring to make a final Bow. :D

Yes, this was a bit inspired by RuneScape.

Spin-off: Somewhat like the original, except there's a deviation in the plot. About the same game style, though.
In your case, it's a spin-off of Runescape. Not that it's bad...

Ok, I made a new cool thing now, for my game. Summoning. You can summon Dragons, Skeletons, and more!

EDIT 2: When next version is released, and you go into areas, you will be transfered a bit further away from the regular point. This is because of a bug, whn having a Dragon summoned, you will be popped back and forth, and can't move. :evil:

MAJOR update:
-All enemies will now respawn every 60 second when killed.
-All doors close after 5 seconds.
-The Quest Log has a hotkey as L.
-If you press H, and have a healing potion it will be used.
-Menu got removed some stuff.
-Creating even more items.
-Placed over 15 new spinners over the world(there was 4 in th beginning).
-New craftsman shops in Aldra, Gullset, Gnome Plaza, The Great Tree.
-Over 120 soudns in total. Last version only had 80
-A total of 40 new Items (more is being made)
-Over 10 new maps for Armandor Isle
-New Loading menu. Showing borth maps, with the sea around
-You can craft 5 new items/weapons!

You mean he rated it 0? You can't lower a game's score with just one vote. The Rating is an average of all the votes that the game has recieved.

You seem to have worked really hard on this because that was a VERY long post, and the screenshots look pretty immense. I'll download when I get the time, because my downloading slows down my internet connection. Once again, well done.
My game Oncoming Storm should've been released about 2 years ago. Am working on it for about an hour a day, and plan to be finished soon (this is about the 6th time it's been delayed).

hmmm ... Try playing this through and checking for possible bugs. I didn't know where to go after I rescued the girl the first time from the skeletons because I was able to enter that map again, get another sword, and then was frozen in the spring.

Finally managed to find a time to download it without it freezing my internet up!
I started playing and I'm not sure if this is a bug or not. I herded all the sheep for the guy, and then he tells me to go home because its late. I went home (because it was supposedly late) and the character didn't do anything. I searched around the first village where to go and I didn't find anything. I also talked to the little girl who tells me to meet her somewhere but still nothing.

Also, make sure the sheep's routes aren't so jolty (turning too many times in their route) and try and keep their routes straight other than turning every two steps, because this leaves me with an error message that the sheep can't walk to location. Also, one of the sheep got stuck to the tree and I had to restart.

I was hoping to play this since yesterday, but I'm unsure if this is a bug or not (the 1st one). I had the old version of this game, and it worked fine, but when I downloaded the newer V2.1, I can't seem to get past anything. The game is quite good, its just that I can't progress further.

You must hit all the sheep, even if they are inside the fence area...
Will try to fix this, if the error "sheep" can't walk to anywhere, there is probably a shep plcoking the entrance of their place. When the girl does not do anything, try to go back, hit all sheep even more, then it will work. Won't be able to fix in a week though. Vacation.

The next version will have things clearer, and easier to gain money etc.

Okay.. this might sound harsh.....


What I Liked: (we'll start out positive here)

* Your horse was really cool!

* Great custom resources!

What I Didn't Like:

* Your HUD looked like you were trying to copy Meto's in Wolf Hunt.. ( i dont know if thats true..but...)

* You needed a lot more sound effects, (ex. opening door, player getting hit, ect.)

* The character needed to be a lot more customizable. (ex. name changes, skin tone, race, stats, ect.)

* There was an error when that dude was giving me the map...??

* When that chick was kidnapped, your character freaks out, but the robber is right there.

My BIGGEST problem with this game:

Okay, so for a good fantasy game, you really need to make the maps and everything seem... real. You need to create a certain mood for your game. And THAT is why I have a big problem with .MIDIs in general. All of my music is .MP3 and it creates a really good mood.

You needed:

Better Lighting
Better Music
Matching Dialouge

And more stuff like that. So.... in your next game, put a little more time in trying to makes the scenes seem somewhat 'real'. ;)

I begg to differ.

STAY WITH MIDI's

They are less than a quarter of the size, and in most cases sound just as good.
If you have too many mp3's no one will download your game because before you know it it will be above 60 Mb.

What I Liked: (we'll start out positive here)

What I Didn't Like:

* Your HUD looked like you were trying to copy Meto's in Wolf Hunt.. ( i dont know if thats true..but...)

* You needed a lot more sound effects, (ex. opening door, player getting hit, ect.)

* The character needed to be a lot more customizable. (ex. name changes, skin tone, race, stats, ect.)

* There was an error when that dude was giving me the map...??

* When that chick was kidnapped, your character freaks out, but the robber is right there.

My BIGGEST problem with this game:

Okay, so for a good fantasy game, you really need to make the maps and everything seem... real. You need to create a certain mood for your game. And THAT is why I have a big problem with .MIDIs in general. All of my music is .MP3 and it creates a really good mood.

You needed:

Better Lighting
Better Music
Matching Dialouge

And more stuff like that. So.... in your next game, put a little more time in trying to makes the scenes seem somewhat 'real'. ;)


Lightining is fixed, as I have become a better gamecreator.
Almost all your bugs have been fixed for the next version. It will be releases veeeery sooonish.
The dude won't give you a map anymore, I deleted it 8)
You can edit characters name in the next version, aswell with the clothes you are wearing.

EDIT: The game is 90% finished for now.
