Harry Potter

Postby serrafina » Wed Jul 13, 2011 5:04 pm

Well, I've been having a movie marathon for the whole week, so I can catch up with the premier of Harry Potter. I'm kind of curious who are the fans of the movies or books, and why. I'm also curious about who doesn't want to read or watch the series. :3

Im going away tomorrow, but im gonna watch the last one in the cinemas in Sweden :) Watched the whole series, never read the books though. In the first two movies i remember pretty much every line, because i watched them like hundreds of times when i was younger xD Didnt like the two movies before this one though. Hoping this will have some action :)

I am massive fan when I was younger and had first stared reading the books I used to go out and carve brooms and wands out of sticks.
I don't get to go see the last movie until next Tuesday but I will get to go see it with a group of my friends.
The last two weren't as good in some ways but six was funny at least even if they did miss a great big major plot battle.
I haven't been doing any kind of preparation like a marathon or such i'm a bit worried I would just start to cry and not be able to stop(it happened to me when I watched Up I cried through the entire movie start to finish).

I read the books for years, I've read all of them 3 times (except the last, only read that one twice), and I've seen all the movies. All of the movies sucked though, this is the only one I'm excited for, because it's the important one lol. I'm just hoping they don't let me down again.

Um if you didn't like the other movies you will be disappointed I bet you.
When it comes down to it I do like the books better but I still like the movies.
I'm kind of sad that it's ending it was the first book series that I loved.

Movies:
-I like the movies because it shortens the time for reading.
-Movies help picture the images one couldn't foresee in the book.
-Movies add sounds and extra scenes not described in the book for entertainment.

Books:
-Books will always be better to cover more information and details that movies can't cover.
-You can always use your imagination about what everything looks like.
-Allows you to read the story anywhere.

I have read about 4 of them and seen the first movie, and I am currently planning on reading/watching the rest.

My favorite character is Snape, by the way.

Oh I love Snape. I think one of my favorite characters has got to be Luna she is so... interesting.

I always liked Luna too.

I went to see this with two of my female friends, who both love Harry Potter. They were crying and gasping the whole way through and I'm sliding down in the seat going "Shut up, we're not alone, sssh".

Conclusion: Read the books first and keep the movies for dessert

It kind of works the other way around too! :3 When you watch the movies and get hooked, you're like, "Oh! That's amazing! I wonder what the books are like!" Read the books, you'll be surprised and forget everything in the movie. "Oh, I never thought they did that." This happened to me when I watched all of the Lord of the Rings movies. I'm still shocked about them facing the spider earlier. I really thought that was a good addition on the last movie.

I read them and they are awesome. The only problem I have is they drag on in some parts.

SPOILER: Severus Snape does not marry Harry Potter. ;)

lol. I think there's a topic somewhere about Lord of the Rings. :3

In any case, it's pretty good! :D The movie follows a bit of the book more because they have extra hours, thanks to splitting it up. The things that aren't mention or added made the movie feel like a movie for once. It covered all the facts without rushing and dramtically build the finishing touch. You'll like it. :3

haha, in that I laughed my ass off. Can you imagine the actor sitting on the floor, holding a stick, and making the face he made? before "movie magic" computer animation, that had to look absolutely restarted lol.

I just watched the movie it was so good I cried so much.
I remembered two important movie rules go to the bathroom before the movie starts(as soon as it started I needed to go  ) and if you are going to cry don't put on non waterproof mascara(at least I never were much so you couldn't really tell).
Oh and I have crazy pictures of me with cardboard characters which I'll put up tomorrow, hopefully :D .

Edit What house would you be in?
I wouldn't be in Gryffindor as I am not brave and Ravenclaw is out as I'm not that smart and I have always been lazy with school work out of Hufflepuff or Slytherin I don't know.

Hufflepuff was considered the skilled or the creative ones.

I'd would love to be placed in Ravenclaw! :D I like to study and make good grades! Although I slack off, I value educational learning as an asset for life. You will never know what kind of knowledge you may need in the future. :3

I would probably go in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.

If it were pure choice I would pick Ravenclaw hand down as smart witty people are my favorite type of people, I mean why else would I be on here. :D
