Sleeping disorder

Postby Ixayou » Sun Jan 02, 2011 10:55 pm

Im writing this 3 hours before i have to go to school, because now i've been up the whole night without being able to sleep. Its been like this for a long time, but its even worse after the vacation. For some reason i seem to have tons of energy at about 10pm-6am, then i am a zombie the whole day even with good sleeping routines. A few days ago i went to bed at 1am and woke up at 8pm, and i was still very tired when i woke up. I have no idea whats causing this, so i wonder if any of you have any tips on how to get sleepy? Do's and dont's? I've been seing a doctor many times the past year because of this, but they all just say the same: go to bed at 11, eat healthy food and exercise. Belive me i do all of this but nothing seems to work. I asked the doctor for sleeping pills, but no matter what i do she refuse to let me take it. Its not really a big deal, you can buy those kinds of pills in stores in countries like USA. She just lets me take anti-depressive pills wich are supposed to help, but it makes things even worse because i can sleep at the night, but im a robot all day so i quit taking them after 2 nights. I need to find another way to get tired i guess :?

I was just talking to Peppy2006 about this.

Whenever I can't sleep, and I listen to this and follow it, 95% of the time I'll fall asleep in the middle of it. Try it out.

I had a similar issue back in the 90s myself when I was younger ( I miss being young!) I took a regimen of eating a banana at night, or blending it with milk and making a malt of it to help me get to sleep. Also during the day I took regular multivitamins like the chewable Flintstones vitamins or One A Day non chewable to help regulate my metabolism. THAT is what is out of balance to cause the sleep disorder. It took me about a week and a half thinking it was never going to work but finally when I woke up one morning at 7 am refreshed I realized it was working! I also read alot too, I was a super net addict beck then staying up 72 hours or more till I passed out sometimes when things were still "new" I cut out the sodas for Sobe drinks, no caffeine and I stopped smoking cold turkey as well, saved enough money to buy a new PC within 3 months LOL. Bananas have lots of Potassium which will cure RLS (Restles Leg Syndrome) which keeps people awake at night often too. Flintstone Vitamins are chewable, cheap, and dont taste like shiznit! Just get your metabolism back in order and you will sleep like a baby soon!

Sounds like you have both Insomnia and Hypersomnia. Basically that means you have trouble falling asleep, and when you fianlly do, you sleep a lot more than a normal person would, but you still feel tired after waking up. I suffer from these too.

Erm, try drinking milk or chocolate milk before you try to go to bed.
If you have a tv in your room watch until you're tired, if you don't get tired turn off the tv and try reading.
If that dosen't work just shut your eyes a you'll eventually sleep.

Find some good white noise. Some sort of repetitious sound that becomes unnoticeable. It really helps me sleep because dead silence is brutal.

You could also take a walk before you go to sleep.
Somewhere out there, is a planet with no war, no hunger, no poverty, no killing, and no evil.
It also has no oxygen

I actually took a walk once at 12am through my neighbourhood when I couldn't sleep once. It is a really nice experience, because there is no movement from anything, and all you can hear is the wind. It did help, but I'm sure it won't help everyone.

I am so listening to that meditation music to go to sleep tonight Mike. :D

Here is a website for a totally free legal use audio tone generator for free to help fall asleep to.( I use it every night set on either a rainstorm or the ocean) I have had it for quite a while and even though it is free it still is awesome too! You can add your own sounds to it by simple drag and drop. No time limit and it never expires.

http://www.resonance-asm.com/

"resonance is an ambient sound mixer and binaural tone generator designed to facilitate concentration, meditation, and relaxation.
The program contains over fifty natural sounds and music. You are able to play and mix these sounds together as well as add effects to them such as reverb, pitch-shift, and echo - all in a straightforward, non-technical way. It is also possible to import your own sounds.
resonance includes a mathematically-precise binaural tone generator, capable of producing fifteen hundred unique binaural frequencies. It is intuitive and simple to use, even for users who don't understand the science behind it.
resonance is free for everyone. "

Once again, totally free, no limits,Windows AND Mac formats, add your own sounds and really cool! 8)

Pretty much the same thing happens to me. I am energetic and not tired at night and I can't sleep, but from the morning onward I am tired.
