Male clothing sizes?

Postby Ixayou » Wed Apr 13, 2011 3:11 pm

I am going to buy a t-shirt and a hoodie online on a UK store, but im very unsure what size to buy. There are S, M and L. S is 36-38" in the chest, M is 38-40" and L is 40-42"
First of all, i have no idea how big any of them are, because in norway we dont even use inches! Second, i cant compare male sizes to my own. I dont know if there's a difference or not, but i dont want to buy anything unless i'm sure.

On t-shirts i like using M. Im tall, so i cant have less. On hoodies i'm not sure, im 173cm tall and i want something that slightly covers my butt so i can use it with tights. Its mostly the length that matters to me, i dont care if they are a little baggy (unless it looks like im wearing a tent)

Any suggestions? The store is currently out of M sizes, but i think they will get more after some time, i just dont know if its worth waiting for.

I would need to know what size you are to tell you for sure. I've seen your picture somewhere and you look a bit on the small side, but with out a real "Basis for Comparison" I'm Guessing at best.

Here are the conversions according to a Taylor's Tape I found in my desk drawer.

1in. = about 2 1/2cm.
37in = 94cm.
39in = 99cm.
41in =104cm.

I use different sizes depending on clothing type. I think i use S-M on t-shirts and M-L hoodies, but some hoodies i like having in large, even XL because i want them to be long so i can wear tights and a little baggy. What im most concerned about is its length.

My body size is medium i think (not fat, not skinny) and im 173cm tall.

Get a large, then shrink it if it's too big. :P

In the Chest? I just measured myself and got 44in! These seem to run a bit on the small side. (It's not like I'm "Mr. Tubby" either) Then again I'm in America and we do tend to be a bit on the large side (To a American male medium = small and its not uncommon for small to be hard to find, yet XXXL is in stock!)

I think the Medium is a safe bet, but the Large shouldn't be outrageously big especially if you want it to double as a skirt. (If you were my sister, I would still advise you to wear shorts underneath as well. But your not...)

I wear large T-shirts and large hoodies fit fairly well. I weigh 200 pounds and I'm 180 cm :P A large should be more then enough for you. But baggy hoodies are nice (I like them more personally), so a large should be fine.

OT: I never got a chance to play Red Dead with you, and it's already overdue : / Sorry :(

Also slightly off topic:

I find it cute when girls do that.

This. Better to get a larger size than a smaller size.
