The Magi's Creed

Postby Inxth » Sun May 24, 2009 5:22 pm

[Demo not currently available]

Storyline:
You play as Creed in this game, a magus who has been given his most dangerous mission by a dying king; to retrieve the precious Egg of Recovery and restore peace to the Forestal Kingdoms.

But that's not all. A few days after you've returned, a new danger threatens the Forestal Kingdoms. Deep in the Runic Woods, a mysterious wreck has been found. People have been sent to investigate, but no-one ever returned. The thing is, if a person steps on a certain tile, everything on the same colour tile of the ruins are taken into a parallel world called the Ethereal Realms and a fresh set of tiles appear in the Outer Circle. Should the tiles be outside the ruins, both worlds will collide - and disintegrate. The only way to destroy the tiles is to return the Egg of Recovery to the Artefact Circle of the Ethereal Realms, where nothing is as it seems...

Characters:

Creed - the Magus
Leon - the King
Kevin - Commander of the the King's Army
Luna - 1st Gate Guardian
Sol - 2nd Gate Guardian
Lars - Merchant from the Ethereal Realms
Grief - Final Boss; Controls a Dracolich
Greed - 1st Boss; A Hunter
Envy - 2nd Boss; A Warlord
Hatred - 3rd Boss; An Assassin
Loss - 4th Boss; a maniac that uses energy blades
Kim - Guardian of the Ethereal Realms
Edward - The High Priest; Can travel between worlds
Eric - Sprite from the Runic Woods

Monsters:

Dracolich - An Undead dragon summoned by a necromancer. Very dangerous.
Lich - A warlock so powerful he turns ectoplasmic. Can only be taken down with magic/bullets.
Creave - A roach-like monster that has a shell as hard as steel. Arrows won't work on these things.
Cyclops - One eyed giant. Arrows don't have any effect and swords don't deal much damage.
Heye - A hand with an eye in it. Only magic does any damage, and it can use magic itself, making it a dangerous enemy.

I'm creating my own resources, so if it's a bit choppy I should say it's my first time making my own resources.
One of the monsters might look a little like this:

Yeah. I know. Only two words for it. REAL BAD or EPIC FAIL. I'll try to make a better one though... Had to make it in 5 minutes at school....

The Rip/custom part I don't get...

Actually, an ogre is kinda green. Sorry if the pic looks a little wrong. It's a cyclops.... Just downloaded GIMP. See if I could make a better one with that.........

I'm going to make the loading screen drawn by hand. I'll upload it here when it's finished.

I think the cyclops is pretty good for a first time resource maker. :)

The images are the least of my concern; but if they are sprites for your game, I'd suggest you do something about the conversion into its smaller counterpart during gameplay; chances are it won't look pretty.

Okay. I wonder how we're supposed to make the sprites move. Do we have to, like, make it frame-by-frame? I've made other games before but I only use the default one, this is the first time I'm making sprites...

BUMP!
