Don't solar flares have no fire in them at all when they reach us? It's just a magnetic wave that would disrupt our magnetic field and cause the weather to whack out, right?

Solar flares are dangerous radiation, depending on the type released it could be like the radiation let off by an atomic bomb.

Or it could be harmless, solar flares actually occur quite often, and mostly our ozone would protect us.

Also, the 2012 doomsday thing is related to a planet coming in and colliding with us.

According to another theory of Apocalypse, this star would be on a collision course with Earth. To Yeomans, it is impossible that no one has detected Nibiru approaching, if this really is happening.

The only theories that could even possibly happen at this point are an alien invasion or an artificial magnetic pole reversal. Neither of those have anything to do with the Mayans though.

For a massive solar flare to wipe us out, it would have to have already happened for it to reach us on the 22nd. We would see it coming, and it's not.

The Mayans simply did not have enough space to continue their calendar.

Just like the great Pieces Age is ending, we just go to the next one, Aquarius. And after that it starts over with Capricorn. Calenders are cycles too.

That's not exactly something that happens overnight though. Some say transitions between astrological ages can take hundreds of years, and nobody knows the true answer of when the ages change, or really even what age we are currently in. In fact, the entire concept is so convoluted that you may as well just label it as bullshit, just like the apocalypse.

World is ending in 24 hours and 20 minutes (if the Apocalypse is courteous to run on CST).

Well, time to kill myself.

Ya I don't subscribe to Zodiacs, but I read that 2012 was the end of the age of Pisces.

Dawn of the Final Day, it seems.

This "end of the world" prediction is just the May 2003 end of the world prediction - when the supposedly existing planet called 'Nibiru' collides with the Earth. When that didn't happen in 2003 the date was simply moved to December 21st 2012 because of the ending of the Mayan calendar but, like with any calendar, a new one starts as soon as the current one ends.

Apocalypse, Day One. The creatures have taken over. Groups of survivors are scattered along the borders of states. It's dangerous territory to go deeper than the outskirts.

I fear this is the end.

Guise, the apocalypse isn't until the 22nd. The 21st is our last full day. Get it right.

I don't know about you guys, but GWAR is playing here during the end of the world and I'm definitely going. What an awesome way to die.

Srsly though, I bet someone somewhere does something terrible tomorrow, maybe even worse than last friday. I hope not but I have a strong feeling. There's a lot of crazy messed up people out there that take this end of the world thing very seriously.

Okay, the world is ending!
Everyone has a terrible head ache, they're vomiting every where! That's how we will all die, sickness, caused by solar radiation!
Oh... Never mind, they're all just hung over. At least they had an excuse to drink.

It did end, the "reality" you are experiencing now is merely a ghostly memory of your living self that was incinerated on the 21st. This is all a spiritual dreamlike existence, sorta like the Matrix. Nothing is real anymore.

Just kidding. I like poptarts.

Oh, you guys should watch the movie Total Recall if you haven't already... yeah, it's not an "end of the world" type of movie, but the memory aspect that SBG noted is indeed pretty cool and that is the main focus of the movie, I guess. Anyways, it's a good movie and even though I'm off topic, yup guys, we are all already gone really... I mean it's the 30th now...? 9 days into the post-apocalypse thing. :D We're doing good, because we're still alive.
