More like this than what Mike said. I'm fine with my computer - I can make 3D stuff with no problems, I can play Far Cry 2 and other relatively new titles on medium graphics and I'm fine with it (as it still looks rather beautiful and requires a double core processor which I don't have) and other stuff. Also, laptop of what sort? Alienware newest "netbook"? Why is it even called a netbook if it's so heavy and stuff anyway?

Laptops are known to have powerful RAM and Processors, however mostly they are missing the action with bad intergrated videocards. I'm mostly buying new hardware for my computer if I really need it or I can get something very cheap.

Indeed. Eventhough I have such a fast computer, I could still use my old Computer without any problems. I guess that computer will still pwn you although it is slower. (CPU: Intel Celeron D 3.06GHz, 512MB RAM, Windows XP (Professional. I had Home when my Recovery DVD was accepted before. Today the Recovery DVD doesn't want to recover my system anymore, so I installed a non-OEM XP Pro instead), Graphics Card: ATi Radeon X550)

3 GB RAM (dual-channel DDR2... ya, I know, right?)
Windows Vista Home Premium (SP2) 32-bit
"XPS 420"
Intel Core 2 Quad
nVidia GeForce 9800 GT (512 MB)

and then...
Default dell monitor (22")
Acer X223W (22")
Logitech wireless mouse
Yamaha PSR-E223 MIDI and synth keyboard
Some form of stereo standard towers and a bass speaker (default)

I'm thinking about getting a new computer... but leaving the screens and audio stuff (as it all seems to be good). Besides, all you guys seem to have 64 bit stuff already.

15" MacBook Pro, 2.52Ghz Core 2 Duo. 4 Gigs of ram. Mac Os Lion, used to have Windows xp dual boot as well but got rid of that. Thinking about shelling out for windows 7 once windows 8 brings the price down. There has never been a moment where I couldn't play a game I wanted to buy because i don't have windows, though. Mw2, Portal, Minecraft, Oblivion (non legit), Half Life 2, Team Fortress, Gta, BioShock- all available on mac. Limbo was really the only disappointment at first, but then someone ported it over. 001 is the main incentive.

27" Dell Ultrasharp Monitor. 2560x1440 resolution. I can watch 3 and a half full sized 720p movies and still have empty space on the screen. I do allot of work in InDesign and Illustrator, a big screen is a godsent for A3 page layouts.

Wacom Bamboo drawing Tablet. Intuous are way too expensive.

Roland Edirol 4 octave keyboard with drumpad, and a Behringer 2 octave UMA keyboard with an audio in/out built in. Have two casios, but they are gathering dust somewhere.

1 Tb External hd. Altec Lansing Speakers.

Software: Adobe Creative suite CS5. IMO, 5.5 was the biggest needless rippoff/money grab since Vista.
Logic Pro (non legit, it costs over $800 so go figure)
Sketch book pro <- awesome drawing app. Works great with drawing tablets.

w00t! Upgraded sound system :D Its epic nao!

A new (still old) kenwood digital amp, powering 2 JVC towers (from before) but also 2 Audio Sphere Research speakers (Have 4 high range, 2 mid range tweeters and 1 large 16"/18"sub each and of course a large box ;))

And I have another amp hooked up using the sub output on the digital kenwood amp, its a 2000 watt kenwood amp that is powering my 2 10"/12" MTX subs.

I'll have to measure my subs to get the exact size, but overall my system pounds now 8D

I'll have to upload pics of my room once its cleaned and setup more. Its definitely cluttered, but it does everything I need it too haha :P

I'm holding 60 Celsius, and spiking to 66 C, then dropping back to 60. That's after an hour of Prime95 torture testing. The "Super safe stopping point" for these processor's is 70 C. I could push mine higher.

People have pushed my processor to 5.1 GHz on air cooling :P

Or, if you lived in the Arctic, I'm sure you could remove the case and push it as far as you wanted.

That would actually make the processor hotter. Cooling the processor isn't about putting cold air in, it's about taking the hot air out.
