Resources -Uploading Multiple of same kind

Postby Danny » Fri Aug 05, 2016 4:16 pm

I wish to upload some resources to the website, only thing is there all seperate sprites but all together. For example when put together it forms a "Planet" however the planets outline, ocean, land, north/south poles, mantle, core etc are all different sprites categories.

How can i combine all these into one and export it only as one sprite yet keep them all seperate as they are?

Thanks! :D

You can't. I see why you made them separate sprites. You're not going to be able to get that level of color customization if you combine them into one sprite, and you're not going to be able to upload a package of sprites and import it as a combined set and have them import separately.

What you could do is settle for a limited number of set color combinations, and make custom poses for each one under one sprite.

I don't really want to do that. It's a shame exporting actor templates doesn't export the sprites with it but instead puts them into the actor template file and then have it export them seperate again once imported into 001. I'll upload one by one, might get rejected but worth a shot. Thank you :)

Just create them as different layers in the SAME sprite and then assign different colour layers to each one (the second text box of the Render / Color option). Each colour layer will create a new colour option in the Actor window for that Sprite.

Then you can just export it as a Resource so it's all contained within a single file :).

Before i make this change can you actually change the colours of each sprite still via in-game scripting?

No, you can not unfortunately.

However, why not export the sprite as a multi-part sprite? You can do this by making the "Main" piece be a "Body" sprite then attaching the others as an "Accessory". When you go to export the "Main" piece after picking a file name this window will pop up:

You can then select the other pieces to include with the "Main" piece (In this case, the ocean, core, land, etc)
This feature was made specifically to include multiple different sprites into one file, for the case of say creating a custom male character with various accessories/styles all bundled into one massive resource file.

Aka yes this is possible ;)
