I usually don't agree with much that IGN says, so I usually use them for news. I wonder if FF7 will be their #1, or maybe something else that's really popular...

Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door is a turn based RPG, but I've never played it so I couldn't tell you how much it sucks.

I'm sad to see Shadowrun and Icewind Dale 2 so low on the list, especially Shadowrun. That game was pretty much revolutionary, unless they are talking about the Genesis or *shiver* 360 version(not an RPG). But I'm pretty sure they are talking about the SNES version. I'd put that in my top ten, not 86.

And Icewind Dale 2? How can you go wrong with a D&D Black Isle game? I must admit I've never played ID2, but I know what it's all about because I've played every other D&D Black Isle/Troika game, and they are pretty much all the same with slight differences, but still all amazing games nonetheless. And in the article about ID2, they say it's probably the best and most fun. I hope that doesn't mean they won't have the other games on the list. That would just be silly, because they are all quintessential RPGs.

Also I'm kinda surprised New Vegas is so far down on the list. Not the best game ever, but much better than a lot of the games that are already higher on the list. I'd play that over FF7 any day. God I hope FF7 isn't number 1. I hope no JRPG is number 1 for that matter. I bet it will end up being Skyrim or something stupid though.

I just saw someone speculate that Pokemon would be number 1. I could live with that. It warped my mind when I was a kid like no other game ever has.

It isn't. Pokemon Red and Blue are number 3! :3 Chrono triggar number 2! Final Fantasy 6 was number 1. Someone told me the characters and story was really good!

3 jrpgs as the top games, and stereotypically FF is number 1. Bleh. Though I did get into that one as a kid.

Oh wait, Baldurs Gate 2 is number 3. I like that game a bunches. It's friggin amazing. I think I'm going to play it.

Actually that was a 90s PC game. Maybe you're thinking of Dragon Age? That was made by the same people, Bioware. It's basically a current gen version of Baldurs Gate.

Speaking of which... DRAGON AGE IS NOT EVEN ON THE LIST!!! Are you freaking kidding me? This is obviously a mistake, or had a brain fart or something. There's no way Baldurs Gate can be number 3 and Dragon age doesn't even make it.

Baulder's Gate II: Dark Alliance is what it was called on the xbox. I played dragon age though.

Maybe it does that web narratives like Mass Effect 3? They wont consider it well, but it still carried a storyline.

Oh I didn't even know there was an updated Baldurs Gate.
Also Dragon Age was a great game through and through. I wouldn't class it with Mass Effect 3, and I'm pretty sure it's not on that list because somebody just totally forgot to nominate it. I bet it would rank very high in the list if IGN realized they forgot to put it on the list. Probably even top 10. It's got a 9 out of 10 on IGN in the first place.

Hehe, I didn't know about an older pc version. Probably because I wasn't even born. XD I bet it would have been harder to beat then the upgraded version since most upgraded versions seem a bit easier.

lol. Editor's choice too! I just clicked on the link.

Maybe they did forget about it, or there must be a reason why they left it out. However, it should have been in the Top 100 for sure. :)

I read the full review, apparently the console version wasn't nearly as good as the PC, but they didn't trash it enough for it to not be on the list. I've never played the console versions, but the PC version is just as good if not better than the original Baldurs Gate games.

This is a joke.

Nel mezzo del camin di nostra vita
mi ritrovai per una selva oscura
che la diritta via era smarrita.
Ahi quanto a dir qual era è cosa dura
esta selva selvaggia e aspra e forte,
che nel pensier rinuova la paura!
    Tant 'e amara che poco è più morte;
ma per trattar del ben ch'i' vi trovai,
dirò del altre cose ch'i' v'ho scorte.
