Peppy's Return!

Peppy's Return is now available for download.

Enjoy the newest installment in the Peppy's Adventure series. :D

UPDATE: 5/4/09
Going good! So far, two different paths. You can choose which one to take, go with one dog, or the other. It'll affect what ending you get. :D

UPDATE: 5/14/09
Going GREAT! Two different paths with slightly different endings, I'm getting one of my friends to test the game out so I can get a response if there are any bugs or if it needs that one extra bush in a certain level. :D Hoping to release the game NEXT WEEK! YEAH! The 2 year project comes to a close. The old levels are gone, I didn't see how they fit into anything anymore, with the exception of a pretty neat dream sequence I made when I started, but that also went. Hopefully the game'll be great.

Ah, memories....

What made it:

Characters (Peppy the Chiuahua Mutt (Of course), Buddy the Dachsund (Re-appearance), and Rusty the Golden Retriever (New) and more re-appearances...)
Custom Holding Frames (For the dogs)
Sound FX
Music from the previous games
Some old levels have made re-appearances
Custom Keys! (Yeah! I did it!)
I tweaked around with the main menu
I made a few custom things. See if you can spot them.
Other things I'm not thinking of right now.

What DIDN'T make it (Sadly):

The first levels I made 2 years back
2 Player
Not too much improvement on the HUD. May release another version with a better more customized HUD. Expect that, after I see how this initial release fares.

Sounds good. I really like the idea behind the peppy games. The main character isn't human so thats always new. However rember that there are many more features than there was when you started useing 001 take advantage of them ;) make a nice looking menu, HUD and use some custom keys and such. Maby add a 2 player mode or some custom resources possibly a twist (Peppy's sister?) anyway the story sounds good so just keep working on it. :)

Actually I was thinking of adding in 2 player... How do I do that, though? It probably won't be one of his siblings, though. Peppy doesn't particularly like his siblings. He was the runt of his litter, so that kinda made things bitter between him and his siblings. Although... I do know who else I can add in there... (Not me.) Buddy is Peppy's dachshund friend. He'll be in there.

ALSO, as you may have already seen, I need some help. See, I've never been a great artist, and I need a new thing or two in the game. More info has been added to my first post about these things. :D

WOO! Releasing the game next week. Heres what made it and what didn't....

What made it:

I hope it is! I enjoyed making it more than I did making Peppy's Adventure 1 & 2! It's a good sign. If I enjoy making it, and playing it, it's usually a really good sign. I'm checking to see if the game meets every requirement mentioned in the "how to make a good 001 game" topic. :D

Then it has to be good. Usually, all of your summaries are funny, and I like humourous stuff, so I think it'll be good. Are you going to load screens? Can't download right now.

YEAH! I'm pretty much done with the game! Enjoy this game, and mind you, a NEW HUD is in its near future. I just wanted to get an initial release out, because the HUD is the only thing left to do, the levels are done. Please let me know if there are any bugs/glitches. Thank you, and enjoy. :D :D :D :D

I quite like the game, it is far higher quality than all of your previous ones. :D But, there is a massive jump in difficulty in the level where you get to fight with Rusty Buddy, and I haven't been able to complete it.

Which level? If you tell me the level, describe it and such, I could give you a couple hints/tips. I wanted it to be a little harder, since Rusty and Buddy are fighting with you, and you aren't alone.

Rusty and Buddy always end up stuck somewhere close to the start. :?

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I can't draw worth crap. That's why i usually just use the downloaded resources. Try using some of those.

What Was Good:

I really liked your flashlight feature. It was good.

The game was kind of funny.

What I Thought Needed To be Improved:

The beginning was totally confusing. I think that you needed some good title music, and such.

You're 'forest maze' was actually kind of hard. It took me like 10 mintues.

None of the guys did ANY damage, until I jumed the fence.

The levels were way too easy.

And I'd like to see some party members.

1. What kind of title music? Suggestions? I don't know what kind of music to use. Also, what'd you find confusing about it?
2. Why not have a hard maze every once in a while? But maybe you're right. So which maze? There is (I think) 3...
3. That's a bug, fixed in next version. :D
4. So, you want harder levels? Heh heh heh.... Now that I know the levels actually work right, I'll up the difficulty, and maybe add a difficulty option. :D Thanks for the idea!
5. Buddy and Rusty were supposed to be party members, but they always died. SO, I made them be NPC party members... Sort of. Them not always following you is a bug within 001. I should report it, if it hasn't been already.

I should be able to fix/improve these things.
