Facility 10 DEMO1 (Halloween Contest Entry)

I uploaded a short demo for the contest. Not nearly what I had originally planned, but classes have had me pinned down for the last couple weeks.

STORY:
Martha Thainom (Moth) is a solo agent responding to a vague distress signal sent from Research Facility 10. In 1973 the government discovered the facility and immediately shut it down due to the unethical nature of the experiments that were being performed on animals there. The facility had been abandoned ever since so authorities assumed the signal was some sort of malfunction and ignored it. Moth didn't.

SETTING:
North America, October 31st (in the not so distant past)

GAMEPLAY:
Mystery/Shooter

FEATURES:
- Night Vision/Radio Vision
- Energy and Ammo-based weapons
- Puzzle-some exploration
- Custom Sound FX (some adaptations)
- Custom Music
- Custom Visual elements (some adaptations)

Graphics look good, moving stuff is cool, HUD looks good. Good job so far.

Wicked! Looks awesome in terms of graphics. It seems like the story is going to be really dark and familiar. Maybe you should add something to spice it up a bit. Maybe another character or something.

Eh ... the story might seem predictable. I'll guess you'll have to see at the end.

I'm now adding the character from the cage contest and making some animations for it.

Why did it send you back a few steps? You only reported one issue, which was in both 1.8.0 and 1.8.1 already...

This was the issue. A bug report has been sent.

Originally I have planned on utilizing an e-mail system to tell the story, but because of time I may just scratch that and have the player read a variety of things to piece things together.

Nice demo :)

I think it's a tiny bit too hard - there is only one place I found where you can get healed, and it doesn't heal you too much.

When you die, you have to Press Escape and restart the game - nothing happens when you die apart from the screen going black (and the HUD is still there)

The counter in the room with the breaker box has some collision issues - when you stand on it, you aren't standing on it in some places, you are partially inside it.

One last issue, the pushing of explosives doesn't always work, sometimes it tries to move to where you are, instead of getting pushed away from you.

The sounds are great, graphics are great and effects are great.
All round, for a demo it is quite good - looking forward to playing the full game :D

Hey thanks for playing it and thanks for notifying me of those bugs. I feel really bad because non of the real action is in the demo. There are only a few types of enemies, but they are diverse and each one has a different kind of behavior. The only one you encounter in the demo are the guard guns which are tricky to hit, but weak. I had two others sprited, but I hadn't got their behaviors quite hammered down in time for the demo. Plus I want them to appear in specific locations in the facility and most of those maps aren't done yet.
