Forgotten Lands: Tel'Abim

Postby Jegar » Mon Apr 20, 2009 12:13 am

This game I developed as a side project for Half Life RPG's Interfaces (and a love of World of Warcraft) This game came spawned. However though I wanted to express more of an economic side rather than fast paced game play. In this game you start out as an immigrant from the Alliance trying to make a better life for yourself. The place you got to achieve this is the Island of Tel'Abim. At this point in the game development the story line is almost non-existent (becuase I focused on trying to develop jobs ingame) however though there are some touch ups. Most of the game is centered around making money, either by doing Jobs, Harvesting resources, building bases, doing quests, or fighting (with a highly basic turn based combat system that isn't to polished yet but works).

Anyhow here are some listed features:

-Ability to own certain structures
-Ability to craft items and structures
-Choose between 3 races at this point: Human, Night Elf, and Dwarf
-About 92 items so far
-About 12 quests

The map screen reminds me of old-school Ultima:Exodus. God ,I loved that game for the NES.... Wonder how hard it would be to get my hands on an old cartridge? Then again, if this game gets completed I won't need to. (wink-wink-nudge-nudge).

Why you mean how small everything is? if so that was just because I can't draw wow characters.

Just an over all look. Ultima:Exodus is like one of the coolest RPG's ever... at least for me. I remember that it was like one of the first RPG's I ever played where you could attack ANYBODY... Even Lord British. I remember always wanting to get my character strong enough to kill him... To what end I don't remember. Basically the Ultima comment is meant as a good thing.
