Job: Greeter

Postby Mike » Sun Sep 26, 2010 4:22 pm

Position:
The task is simple. Once a user signs up to the forums, the chosen will all be randomly selected to send a PM automatically to the new user. The user may or may not reply. Your job is to direct them to the forums for most things, except questions about how to use the forum or site. The test will ensure that you have this capability.

Requirements:
-Mature, positive, helpful, smart.
-Have been part of the forums for more than 6 months.
-Have not been on probation.
-Frequent the site at least once every two days generally.
-Have had at least 100 posts, for most of which are actually good posts.

Test:
Answer all of these questions in a form of a PM to Zhuge. Please do NOT post in this thread, or you may not be considered. These are all questions a user would ask, so please figure out how you would respond to them.

1. How can I change my signature?
2. How do I move a character from one map to another?
3. How do I add a bank system to my game?
4. How do I upload a game?
5. Can you join me to work on my game?
6. Want to add me to MSN?
7. How do I change my profile picture?
8. Do you know when 001 will be out?
9. How do I upload resources?
10. How do I make an item in 001?

A message will be sent to all new users. The person it's from will be randomly selected from the group of greeters, as long as they've been on the site in the past 2 days.

Your missing how easy Mike is going to make this Tab.

Your going to write a default message, and a system is going to choose from a group of greeters, whoever has been on in the last two days, take the persons template, add the persons name, etc. and then send it. You only write it once :P

Yea. Don't forget how many new users we get. Like what, 4 a day? Most never make a first post.

Your going to write a default message, and a system is going to choose from a group of greeters, whoever has been on in the last two days, take the persons template, add the persons name, etc. and then send it. You only write it once :P

woulden't that defeat the purpose of having greeters  mike could just make a few accounts then use them in the sam eway coulden't he

No not really, because the person can see that the user is an actual long time user, and not some bot with 0 posts. Were doing this so that we can AVOID bot PM greetings. Because on most sites I go on, I always get a PM right after registering. Alas, it's a bot. :( Plus, we need real people to do this so that they can respond. It's mostly about the ability to respond rather than the actual greeting.

Considering a lot of those guys are linked to porn sites, yeah, I'd say bots.
