Process Map stops map "Unloading"

Postby Danny » Sat Oct 01, 2016 5:43 pm

Okay so in map properties if you have "Process Map regardless of focus" checked as well as "Unload Map On Exit (Non Persistet Map) checked, when you leave the map the map fails to "Unload" and continues to run in the background. If you uncheck "Process Map" and keep "Unload Map" checked then it works fine.

I would have thought if the "Unload Map On Exit" was checked then it would unload the map regardless of whether or not the "Process Map" option was checked. What if you want the map processing while you're on it but want it unloading when you leave?

Unless am missing something here?

If you don't want a map processed when you're not on it, then you should uncheck "Process Map regardless of focus". That option makes it so maps are processed that you are not on and is working against what you're trying to do.

I thought the process map would process a map when you're not on it but also process the entire map while you're on it as well so that you didn't have to mess around with the "Processing Radius" inside "Game Options" in the editor?

So really it's not against what am trying to do. I have an enemy on the map that is outside the players "Processing Radius" and when it's outside the players radius the trigger in the enemy sprite fail to execute but when i enable "Process Map regardless of focus" in the map options it executes those triggers in the actor even if the actor is outside the "Processing Radius"

So something is wrong, either "Process Map regardless of focus" is suppose to be only for when you're not on the map or it's suppose to be for either on the map or not on the map.

Which is it? Cause right now "Process Map regardless of focus" is allowing the map to be processed either way.

It was added in so you could process maps without having focus on that map, but it should work in your case; You can just turn process map regardless of focus off whenever the player leaves the map, and turn it back on whenever he enters it.

I didn't know that event existed, never seen it before. Thank you!
