Having players upload/download items via MYSQL database

Postby Save_us.222 » Tue May 23, 2017 9:27 pm

Hi. I have an idea that I would like to incorporate in my tiny game, but I'm unsure how to do it.

I want to create a simple database on a website where players can upload pictures of an item along with a name and description. This shouldn't be hard for me to do (simple MySQL database + PHP), but I don't know how to allow the players to download the "item" from the website and "upload" it into the game.

For example, User A uploads a picture of a chair, names the item "chair", and names the description "something to sit on". User B finds a download link to the "chair" item, downloads it, and uploads it into the game.

I am unsure how to handle the downloading/uploading portion. I understand that different items will have different attributes, but I just need some help in determining what steps to take before I can add additional variables.

001 doesn't support uploading/downloading resources (In this case, images).
Please do not PM me with Engine 001 related questions, rather post on the forums. ;)
