Battles of the Just

Battles of the Just is a game I'm slowly working on. It's going to have alot of features, but my first release won't be the full game. It will be about a third of it.

New Czech. The home-country of Karel, a wandering man with no purpose in life. Except one main goal. To find his parents. He comes to many adventures (because that’s what happens in videogames) and meets up with many other unique characters, such as a princess, a whipping boy, an odd mage, a reckless swordsman, a mysterious knight, and more. The world is slowly being attacked more and more by goblins, which seemed to have come out of no where.

The game starts as regular “rescue the princess” game, until we learn she secretly knows how to use a bow… and she’s pretty good.


I have used many recouces made by other people, but I was sure to give everyone credit. :)

I'm still working on the Hud, because I encountered a few problems with it.

Little shallow in the plotline, yes, it is a 'regular rescue the princess game', but you'll have to explain more about you, the princess etc.
And what does the princess have to do with the 'find his parents' goal? Maybe you could use that as an opportunity for thickening the plot, e.g. the princess is his long lost sister, or she helps but eventually turns against him (parents are her kingdom's enemies).
Really, with that there's plenty of possibilities, don't waste 'em. ;)

Anything I can think up (and make)

Like putting secrets in maps, or make whole new secret maps, you know side-quest sorta stuff.

I'm also going to be adding handrawn artwork to the loading screen.
(I'm listing things as I think of them. I don't remember even putting the "features" thing into my post, it's too straigt forward, but I did...)

I'll add to this list... maybe...


Don't worry, all you Wal-Mart Escape players, this one won't be crap. :lol:

In general, that's a really nice top-right HUD, but don't you find that rather colorful, and epilepsy-inducing?!
And add custom resources. I keep seeing the same tree over and over again - now I can't think of anything but trees.

UHH!!! The trees are driving me NUTS!!!! if there's one thing I cant do, it's make costome trees that go with 001s.

Zelda used the same tree over and over, and they didn't cange em...

That's why I don't like the older Zeldas. But you can download trees from the resources; there's LOADS of them.

might want to make those cloeds more transparent, and less of them, it makes it hard to see

HP bar looks basic. Try adding a holder.

What the hell are lamps doing in psuedo-medieval situations? Either find a replacement or change the ambience of the map.

Oil-lamps have been around for ages, and from what it looks like, that's an Oil-lamp hanging on the wall.

There. I made 2 positions. 1, not floating, 2 on a table. \|/ HAPPY ALEX? THEY AREN'T FLOATING ANYMORE!!!

The lamps are also animated.

and i wont stop bugging you untill the lamps dont float on walls
just erase the tile and put the same tile on the top of the shelf (make it a upper tile set

games don't have to be challenging to be fun. If it has a breathtaking storyline, good characters, and hard puzzles, you're good to go. In the game, it shouldn't be too hard to defeat enemies If you're a god.

second: they might not be floating, but it still looks wierd
third: any progress? more screens? a demo?

Not really... BUT when I start going to bed early, I will do it in the mornings. (starting at 4:00 or 5:00)|

EDIT: FIXED THE LAMPS ALEX.


Fixed shed errors and bugs
added starting weapon punch
killed the tutorial and put it in game
made North woods and world maps
Made mini map that shows where you are
finished first and second side quests
4 secret chests so far
Gablin woods created


Can this be merged?
