view distance WAY too small in 3D mode

Postby skullboy99 » Mon Nov 23, 2015 1:24 am

Hello, So with the help of some kind people on these forums, I am able to make an FPS game. Although, I am having a major issue with something. The view distance is very awful, and is way to hard to see where I'm going. Is it possible to make the view distance farther?

This is an easy one, you want to up your processing radius and minimum ceiling in game settings

This did make everything in the level load faster, but I still have the same view distance.

I changed it to 4000, and everything loaded faster as I walked around, but still couldn't see too far. Just to see if it even works, I set it to 1, and I could still see as far as I normally do, just the game was quite framey.

Psh I misconstrued the question along with mixing a few things up, just do a Change Distance event under the Camera category

Thanks, that worked! Although I have another question, but this doesn't really have to do with the view distance, but does involve the 3D mode. See, when I put a custom made model in the "body" section, I added collision to it, yet in-game I can just walk through the object. Is there something I'm missing?

Are they on the same team? Is Solid checked?

No the object is not on the same team, and the solid is checked. See, basically I'm trying to make a floating platform that moves around the map, and everytime I try to jump on it, I fall through the object. I'm not entirely sure if objects could move with the player, but I was still wanting to test it.
