Subscript out of range error 9: This is a generic error, and we'll need way more information than that to figure out the problem. If you get this, strongly consider following the instructions of submitting your project through the Submit Bug feature within the editor.

Strange control issues

Postby fma_lvr » Tue Jun 06, 2017 6:43 pm

Well, I'm using the default character controls with arrow key movement and Shift for a jump, but it's now somewhat unresponsive for jumps (actually jumping occasionally and, through testing, oddly unpredictably).

Also, I can move diagonally by pressing two of the arrow keys at once....that's always been the case in 001 to my knowledge, yet, for some reason, I can now never move northwest, or rather, up and left at the same time. Every other direction works fine, but trying that one just sticks you to up or left, straight. It's actually a really terrible problem since I've sort of depended on quick and free diagonal movement for a lot of things in the gameplay.

Anyway, I'm hoping there's an explanation for this somehow. Frankly, I'd rather not just submit the whole project for inspection or whatever....it's a bit big for that now, probably.

Oh right, so, I went into that "battle" example to see if it had the same issues with movement/jumping, and it did. So it's not directly an issue with my project apparently.

Its possible the keys are being ghosted by your keyboard, and that this issue is unrelated to 001.

Use this ghosting tester to check if your keyboard is actually sending the keystrokes:
