Exposing the sciences behind gaming and game creation.

Postby AnvilHouse » Tue Apr 23, 2013 1:05 am

I was looking into some interesting subjects today and found my way to a topic that would instantly be helpful to anyone wanting to get an edge in game creation. It is known as "Brain Time Perception". Reading through the essay I realized how vital this can be in the process of making a solid structure of a game. It is a long read, but it is more than well worth it to understand certain aspects of perception and how it can be easily used to help you get into a new dimension of catering to your game mechanics based on science.

This is an essay written by David M. Eagle. Titled "Brain Time"

If you guys end up liking this, then my next subject will be using psychology to create a connection to your target audience.

Interesting stuff. He must study REM sleep and things like that. I've had dreams that lasted several days during periods where I was asleep for 10-20 minutes. The brain can do some amazing things. Are you taking psychology or something?

Nope just an avid science geek...wish I could go to college...sadly I am super poor. But that is what the internet is for and I intend to extract as much knowledge as possible before my brain is fried by the sheer amount I take in.
