Politically Correct Gaming

Postby Tabula Rasa » Tue Jul 22, 2008 9:16 am

Lara Croft is too sexy. RTS games will breed a new generation of Hitlers and Stalins. Racing games encourage unsafe driving and gaudy looking cars. No First Person shooters with people who can be identified as Russian, German, Arab, Asian, or even American. Just use black jelly beans as avatars. No one likes those.
Games like Tekken will encourage people to go join Brad Pitt's Fight Club. RPG's are racist against dragons. Games like Space Invaders are racist against aliens. Action games encourage mass shooting. Simulation games give people too many choices. What if they choose wrong? Hitman...hmph.. Where do I start? Star Wars games offend vast empires. Video games in general decrease work efficiency. They should get rid of them all and people should only play Pong from now on.

Just kidding, y'all, but am I getting my point across?

Sports games are politically correct, except for football and hockey. That's why Pong is okay. But you have to be careful! too many sports games could outfit a chld with a competetie mindset. Cometition is bad. Every one should win.

(Again, jk. This is all sarcasm.)

It seems to me politicians and such abuse their power when they do that. Just assuming you play GTA or something doesn't mean you will turn evil.

Another old thread...

I like peeing in video games. I have a lot of childhood memories of peeing in Duke Nukem

But Postal 2 took it to a whole new level.

Anyone ever play the first postal? The hand drawn art is nice but the game itself is horrible. And Postal 3 is never gonna come out. It's gonna be another Duke Nukem Forever. It's been in development since like '04 and the most recent gameplay video is just a mess and doesn't show much more than what was in the first gameplay video. Plus it's being made with Source? Isn't that one of the easiest game engines to use?

If I had a sense of humor right now, I would come up with some, but I don't, so I won't.
I really think that that stuff is dumb. Yeah, like playing COD Black Ops would convince you to go to Russia with a pistol and knife.

Eh, for me I love violence. But only in games or movies. But yeah. But black ops actually a true story(ish), and yeah. But I wouldn't say that, it was cold war and 'nam.

hahaha same here ixayou i think the guys that take a gun and shoot an officer are just insane nothing to do whit the games they played before doing it lol i mean a normal person would difference btwin reallity and a game
and if i played tons of war games it didnt means i gonna run to the first war that pops up! xD
i mean seriusly in the game i know i can press resset and its all done but in reall i will be risking my ass lol
so i dont think games really affect kids or people that much i think they help to take out yor anger lol i mean maybe they are razists sometimes and thats not good but at least its like in your mind how many times you killed your neightbor because she/he is a ***** LOL thats the same in the games that u kill something on a game doesnt mean u gonna do it in real until ur a crazy ass person lol

I think i played my first GTA game in the age of 8-10 or something. Since the start i thought it was a f*cked up game, and i have never compared it to reality or had thoughts of doing crimes

its just like playing a fantasy game and thinking your a wizard. No normal people does that :P

I was in the principal's office today, and he had a book laying on his desk that was titled "why today's school system is failing." I think it's the education.

The reason why schools fails is because 90% of the time, the poor teacher is lecturing kids for bad behavior or disrespect. Take that down to 10% you might actually learn something. I definately learned some interesting things in English from college, but I wished I've known these cool things in high school, so I could have improve them. But I didn't because I had to 'hear' all the lectures for one or more beings.

I think video games impact our society because it quickly introduce kids, teenagers, and adults to new technology like cell phones! :D So politically, it's an interesting fact of observation~!

(mostly because i lost 7 cellphones in a row lol) but well i mean kids now have like 3 cellphones at 8-10 years old lol that means less exercise and more talk to frnds or play video games all day lol i think thats the bad part of the videogames and the technology, this world gonna be soon like the one in wall-e everyone was fat cuz the tech do all for them on it lol

The people in wall-e were fat because of the low gravity and the ability to do nothing. They thought that was normal, they didn't know. They spent what, 500 years in space?

-----------------ontopic-----------------

Cell phone... still don't officially have one and I'm gonna be 13 in 4 months.

I've never liked CoD. The reason it's not correct in the fighting side is because:

shotgun bullets don't just stop at a desired range

Flashbangs will ring your ears for hours

Knifes don't kill instantly

If Russia attacked America the world would care about it

Barret 50 cal. You shoot someone anywhere with that, they would literally explode. And you can't shoot 20 rounds a second with that.

Riot shield. I don't think the Army uses them

Throwing knives. Military doesn't use those either

Heartbeat sensors. How often do you see those on military rifles?

Your Ghillie suit does not work if the enemy is aware that you shot at them

If you get shot in the head, face facts, you're dead.

Guns jam. Especially in the heat of combat.

British soldiers agree though:
“It’s pure fantasy. The soldiers in this game are so well equipped it’s almost laughable”

“In my twenty years service I’ve never been involved in a mission like those in this game, in which every soldier is so well trained – and with each soldier given every conceivable piece equipment needed to not only complete their mission, but survive an enemy onslaught.”

That's just my opinion though. Medal of Honor is more realistic. :)

I avoided this topic until now.

Why is political correctness being used as a negative word?

Perhaps use the statement People scape goating videogames

Videogames don't cause issues. People make them.

Done.

I like CoD as a game, but it's utter fake.
But what ones' are real now'a'days?

I'm gonna do what ITB did but for Black Ops : D

Shotguns are accurate.

You can't sprint with a L9A61 at full capacity, It's f***in' heavy.

You can't even run that fast with akimbo anything.

Plate/Kevlar are super heavy, you couldn't even sprint.

Face it, Commando is a fancy name for the M4A2/ AR-15.

A war on Nuketown is an apocalypse for each side, the nukes are relatively close and if one get's shot...

Hm, that's it.

True, Spetnaz I'd say is better than alot of countries' armies and specialists.
I'mma add more fake things from Black Ops.
I like the game, but it's just 90% fake.

Hacker - Yeah... seeing stuff through walls.
Chopper Gunner - Bull, you can't get picked up in the middle of a warzone.
Semtex - It's an Isreali C4 type plastic explosive.
M14 - It's an auto/semi gun, not just semi.
Dogs - Not really that much by then and now.

Lol, I could talk about it all day.

I've been playing more lately...

Black Ops non real crap PT4.

A motion sensor can't see through walls.
Kiparis is the same as the Skorpian, just with different stock.
AK74-U is not a submachine gun. It shoots 5.45. Submachine guns are MG's that shoot pistol rounds.
It's impossible to carry a fully loaded M60 with extra ammo.
Pistols are stronger.
ect.
